Job Description

Our client was founded in Malaysia in 1990, and they are now the largest bereavement care company in Asia. The company helps families all over the country with funeral, burial and cremation services by providing one-stop comprehensive service. To support their overall business plan, the company is looking for high calibre professionals to effectively run internal processes. Among their open positions is the role of Branch Head.

Responsibilities:

  • Exercising complete responsibility for developing and managing overall branch and organizational objectives.
  • Formulating policies and business operations that increase sales, profitability, market share and customer and employee satisfaction.
  • Directing, coordinating and monitoring daily branch operations, including sales, business development, customer service, collections, human resources, administration, finance and budget management to ensure its smooth running.
  • Ensuring efficient implementation and full compliance of company policies, administration policies, procedures, guidelines and requirements in running business operations.
  • Assessing local market conditions by conducting a SWOT analyses of daily sales and business operations.
  • Identifying current and prospective sales opportunities and developing forecasts and financial objectives.
  • Formulating and executing sales and business development strategies for the branch to maximize business growth and ensure planned business outcomes are achieved.
  • Keeping Head Office updated on the branch’s monthly performance and business status by providing monthly performance reports, quarterly performance reviews, yearly business plans, budgets and reviewing and highlighting any irregularities or deviations and making suggestions for improvements.
  • Communicating with branch unit by sharing information on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs.
  • Being responsible for staff management, such as planning and executing staff development by instilling leadership and management skills; creating and cultivating high performance culture among subordinates; and training, fostering and driving initiative in branch unit to contribute to long term operational excellence.
  • Identifying, growing, developing and maintaining good rapport with clients and agencies to enhance sales, business development efforts, agent productivity and drive recruitment.
  • Developing new distribution channels to accomplish set targets and objectives.
  • Determining targeted market segments, identifying markets for development, designing and developing appropriate and innovative products and service packages.
  • Directing and participating in business acquisition and growth activities, such as appraising opportunities to take over suitable memorial centres, setting up bereavement care operations, formulating appropriate operational policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
  • Applying and complying with SOPs for group-wide practices.
  • Reviewing and revising branch’s relevant SOPs and invite SOP owners to provide yearly training to all branch staff.
  • Ensuring all SOPs are translated to the local language for easy understanding and application.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Member of Professional Accredited Association (optional).
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership level work experience in the Insurance Industry, Property Industry or Direct Selling Industry.
  • Experience working for several local and overseas listed companies.
  • Experience managing a large agency Salesforce, ideally for an insurance or unit trust company.
  • Experience of holding senior positions in the areas of branch operations, business development and corporate planning.
  • Analytical experience in financial data, financial statements, manpower planning, cost control and budget management.
  • Possess superb presentation and public relations skills.
  • Strong team player with an entrepreneurial predisposition and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Mobile and self-motivated to take up demanding challenges and achieve profit targets.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual in written and spoken English and Chinese.
