  • Conducting market research and analyses.
  • Implementing annual strategies for mattress and sofa products.
  • Driving product themes and specifying designs of existing and new products.
  • Implementing product development strategies and executing production plans to meet market demand.
  • Creating clear guidelines for the supplier selection process, quality controls and claims to achieve cost savings and price policies.
  • Working with the design team to ensure designs meet buyer objectives and are feasible from a manufacturing/costing standpoint.
  • Closely working with suppliers on quality control standards and proactively troubleshooting issues during the development phase.
  • Ensuring rigorous inspections and approvals are consistently followed throughout the development and production process.
  • Approving all preproduction and production samples.
  • Organizing samples with the team throughout the development process to ensure preproduction and production samples are maintained.
  • Regularly reviewing sales performance of assortment and proactively recommending any modifications/strategy changes as needed. 
  • Consulting, training and providing information required by related parties.

Qualifications:

  • Male or female, aged 30 – 40 years old.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Product Design, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in product development and merchandising with major home decoration and furniture companies.
  • Strong knowledge of product design and development (Mattresses and Sofas are preferable).
  • Able to demonstrate good initiative and decisiveness with strong negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Able to problem-solve, manage projects and timelines, and complete in-depth analysis to recommend best decisions.
  • Highly motivated self-starter able to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Flexible, with a positive attitude.
  • Proactive nature and the ability to act with a sense of urgency and with attention to detail.
  • Computer literate (MS Office).
  • Fluent in English.
